Skip It! Is Basically Virtual Stone Skimming and I Can't Stop
You lob objects across a wide ocean trying to get max distance. Timing your angle is everythingโthrow too steep and it sinks on the first bounce.
Skip It! is listed in our Arcade collection because it passed a basic playability review: it loads in a modern browser, explains itself quickly, and offers a clear reason to keep playing after the first attempt.

Honestly the game page lists controls as N/A and that's kinda accurateโI just started clicking and dragging to figure it out. You pull back to set your angle and power, then release to launch. Took me a solid few minutes to realize you can't just spam clicks wildly if you want actual distance. Works fine on desktop with a mouse but I wouldn't try this on a trackpad.
Skip It! is a skill-based arcade game about hurling an object across the ocean surface and making it skip as far as possible. You launch from your hand, watch it bounce off the water, and pray it doesn't sink. That's pretty much the whole thingโdistance throwing with a water skip mechanic. If you like those old flash games where one bad throw ruins your run, this hits the same spot. It's tagged as sports and arcade, which is fair. Anyone who likes chasing high scores will get maybe 30 minutes out of it before it starts feeling repetitive. Not for people who want story or progression.
If you want something slower paced after all that throwing, Mahjong Epic is a solid cooldown game.
A typical session lasts about two minutes unless you're really grinding for distance. You aim, throw, watch the skips play out, and then immediately try again. The first five throws are you figuring out the right angleโtoo flat and it dies fast, too high and it nose-dives. I kept overshooting the power bar for way too long. Around throw fifteen I finally got a rhythm going and hit a distance that felt decent. The ocean surface looks nice but there's no real variation between attempts. After maybe 45 minutes my wrist hurt and my best distance hadn't improved in the last twenty tries. That's when I called it.
The bouncing physics in Bounce Heroes scratch a similar itch if you enjoy watching stuff ricochet around.
Simple click-and-drag throwing mechanic that's easy to pick up
Ocean surface physics that react to your angle and power
Sessions run about 2 minutes each unless you're chasing records
Pure distance-based scoring with no unlock system to worry about
Desktop browser game that loads in under 10 seconds
Arcade style with a sports skin layered on top
Aim for roughly a 15 to 20 degree angleโflat throws skip more
Don't max out the power bar every time, softer throws actually go further
Watch where your object first hits the water and adjust from there
The skip physics favor consistency over lucky heaves so find an angle that works and stick with it
I wasted twenty throws trying to go high arc and it never paid offโkeep it low
Take breaks because your wrist will absolutely start hurting around throw fifty
For another angle-based sports game with more going on, Smash Badminton adds opponents to worry about.
Common questions about Skip It!
Click and drag backward from your character, then release. The direction and distance of your drag set the angle and power. It's basically a slingshot mechanic.
There's no ending. It's pure high-score chasing with no levels or checkpoints. You throw until you're bored or your best distance stops improving.
From what I played it's always the same object. There might be something after certain distance thresholds but I didn't hit anything like that in a couple hours.
Your angle is too steep or you're throwing with way too much power. Ease off the power bar and drop your angle closer to the water surface. Steep throws just nose-dive.
It's listed as desktop only and I'd agree. The drag mechanic needs a mouse to feel precise. Touch controls would probably be a mess.
Early on, anything past three solid skips feels like a win. I stopped seeing major improvements after about 200 meters but that might just be my ceiling.
There's minimal soundโjust the splash effects on impact. If you're not hearing anything your browser tab might be muted. Nothing in the game will blow your ears off anyway.

There are tons of distance throwers out there but this one strips out all the junk. No energy bars, no ads between every throw, no upgrade trees to get lost in. It's closer to stone skipping IRL than something like Angry Birds. Does one thing and doesn't overcomplicate it. That said, it could really use a leaderboard or some reason to keep playing after you plateau.
